Saengmuang's work explores the potential intersections of Futurism, Indigenous Thai wisdom, and Biomimicry to propose alternative futures for urban development. Through the careful construction of detailed speculative scenarios, Their speculative designs examine the social and cultural implications of technological developments and changing cityscapes, acting as a critical lens through which to examine present-day assumptions. They intend to challenge viewers to actively question the nature of progress and the potential trade-offs associated with various paths of infrastructure development. By weaving hypothetical narratives that feel both familiar and alien, they aim to disrupt preconceived notions about the inevitable trajectory of society. The speculative artifacts are never definitive solutions, instead are invitations to engage in open-ended dialogues about the kind of future we wish to collectively build, with a particular emphasis on the balance between technological advancement, cultural preservation, and ecological sustainability.
