Riquelme's work explores the liminal spaces between security, deception, and aesthetics, investigating how technological systems can be simultaneously beautiful and vulnerable. The designer employs a rigorous methodology grounded in ethical hacking principles, treating speculative digital artifacts as potential systems ready to be deconstructed. This examination challenges viewers to question the hidden power structures inherent in complex information systems by examining, in detail, the point where a system is hypothetically compromised. Through complex, digitally-generated designs inspired by science fiction and precise geometric forms, Riquelme crafts speculative scenarios that highlight the fragility of our perceived realities, and propose alternate conceptualizations to those normally put forth. Riquelme uses the aesthetic itself to expose their abstract work, to emphasize how the medium and the system cannot be seperated. Ultimately, their work functions as a series of thought experiments, prompting the audience to reconsider their own assumptions about the seemingly immutable nature of the technological landscapes that surround and increasingly define them, to understand that they are the product of human intention.
